I am a graduate of Western Illinois University, and I am excited to be starting my teaching career. I have earned a bachelor degree in Elementary Education and have received my teaching certificate for Elementary (K-9). I have been teaching in a pre-school for the past three summers while I was finishing my schooling. I have had the opportunity to work in many schools while finishing my degree. One program that I really enjoyed volunteering my time in was America Reads. I was able to tutor students in reading and help them to become better readers through this program. I am very committed to my career and plan on pursuing a master's degree in the near future. I think that children are the most vital asset to our society. I graduated National-Louis University with a 3.7 GPA, and am also in the Kappa Delta Pi honors society for teaching. I have had many years of experience in the classroom, and with many different programs. I also have tutored previously for Sylvan tutoring. I am a Golden Apple Scholar, which is a prestigious award for teaching scholars that I won my senior year of high school. I have always loved working with children and can work with children of all levels due to growing up with an autistic younger brother.
