During my time at Hocking Technical College, I was taking alot of biology related classes such as Botany, Ohio Trees, Aquatic Ecology and many other related classes. I was a tutor for 1 year, teaching students about learining there trees by showing them out in the field and also teaching them latin names for these specific trees. During my 35-year of teaching, I spent 30 years teaching everything from Alg. 1, Geometry, Alg. 2, Trig., Statistics. I was also a math department chair for 5+ years. In that capacity I wrote curriculum for local and county districts. I also lead my department and county in choosing texts. I worked on committees at the county level in training teachers. After my retirement, I realized that I missed teaching and working with young people and helping them prepare for ACT tests and classroom assignments. A Little Bit About Me...

I taught Middle School band for 30 years in the public schools, followed by 9 years part-time at the respected Old Trail School in Bath, OH. My bands at Bolich Middle School in Cuyahoga Falls, OH received many "Outstanding" ratings at O.M.E.A. contests. I have also substituted in several local school districts for a wide variety of subjects, including Spanish and French. I have also tutored Spanish privately, and given private lessons on piano and flute.
I always try to start from "where the student is" and build on from starting point. I believe in positive reinforcement and that anything worth having in life requires consistent effort.
