I have worked with children and families for the past twenty years in various settings. I have a BS in social science from Longwood University and a Master's of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. My career and experience entails training others, instructing in a collegiate setting, writing assessments, reports and maintaining vital documentation on client progress.
I love teaching and working with all populations. I am patient and flexible in my teaching styles. I believe that everyone learns differently and you have to take time and patience to assess what style will be effective for each individual. I am very optimistic and determine. I have enjoyed being a substitute teacher over 200 days in various Middle and High Schools. I have worked for 20 years in the Awana, youth organization, teaching children from ages 3 through High School.
