28 Year Veteran Reading, Writing, and Math Tutor

My teaching style is very hands-on, involving pictures, manipulatives, and tactile modalities. I like to use a dry-erase board to demonstrated concepts as well as allow the student to practice. I take them step-by-step through a new concept, giving a lot of verbal positive reinforcement to praise effort as well as achievement.
I received my training from Cedarville University, Wright State University, Plymouth State College and Keene State College. I received my BA from Cedarville University in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Special Education. I experimented with Political Science for two years, in which I took classes in criminology, speech, and history. My next year of college was spent in English and Writing, where I focused on the obvious, as well as classes in psychology. A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout my scholastic career I have always been a focused and driven student. While at Elder, I was a Spanish and science tutor, graduated in the top four percent of my class, and received the distinction of "National Hispanic Scholar." Also, during the summers, I volunteered at Children's Hospital, monitoring play-rooms and working with children of all ages.
