It depends on the student, each student has its own way, can use games, flash cards, videos, scientific reading, all depending on their needs!! Generally like to leave some homework but not excesive.

The subject that students need the most help with is math. I have noticed the differences in difficulty when trying grasp mathematical concepts and have found ways to somewhat cater to their specific trouble areas. It is very important to give lots of examples and practice problems.
