Genetics is one of my top subjects! I have just completed a PhD in genetics (specifically plant genetics) and I was a TA for Cornell's Introduction to Genetics class for 8 semesters

Though my experience is mostly in molecular biology, it can be expanded to general life sciences. I have just completed a PhD in Genetics at Cornell University with a minor in biochemistry and during my graduate experience, I lectured as a Teaching Assistant for the Introduction to Genetics class for 8 semesters.
My teaching style consists of asking leading questions to enable the student to learn how to think through problems on their own.

A Little Bit About Me...

While obtaining my Master of Science in Biology at the State University of New York College at Brockport I was a teaching assistant for various biology labs. Also as a graduate student I was asked to hold review sessions for the entire Microbiology class for a semester. During these review sessions I would hold lectures and ask any questions, as the Microbiology tutor I also held office hours for all students. While teaching I graded lab reports and helped students answer questions that pertain to the labs.
During my time being a teaching assistant I have learned that the best approach to teaching is a hand's on approach. I like the student/children to think about the question that they are answering and help lead them to the correct answer, I try to not just give them the answer, but instead have them think it over.
