Writing is one of my top subjects!

I am 18 years old, and the oldest child of 7 kids. I was homeschooled K-12, and am always helping my younger siblings with their daily schoolwork. I'm very patient and laid-back, and I have different ways of explaining something if the student doesn't understand. I am a student willing to be a teacher

I am currently a high school senior, I have made good grades in all of my classes, my GPA is 3.0. I tutor my brother and some of his friends, I take concurrent college classes and am enrolled in my 2nd year of Indian Capitol Technology Center. I am very good at getting ideas and teaching kids the things they have learned in a simple student to student fashion.

I tutored for Sheridan Community College in Sheridan WY from Jan. 2000 to July 2004. I tutored mostly higher maths, ranging from algebra to business calculus. I believe the most important skill we can impart to children is a love for learning, and a curiosity about life. That, with a firm foundation in reading and math, will take them anywhere they want to go. I do utilize more of a socratic rather than a didactic approach, and endeavor to involve the learner in discovery as much as possible. I believe that everyone can learn if given the proper encouragement.
Upon graduation from college, I taught 7th grade English for two years, then Gifted & Talented grades 4-6. I left the field of teaching for marriage and babies. My husband was in the military, so we moved quite often. I homeschooled our two children for most of their elementary years. After that I taught 7th grade Algebra at a private school. Most important topics and topics not well understood get time and individualized priority. Offer a challenge test at the end.
