I have recently graduated from Lyon College with a degree in mathematics and a 4.0. From this I have achieved a high level of excellence and performance. Also, I worked as a math tutor for Lyon College in the learning center and as a math tutor for Cedar Ridge High School after school during my time in college. Along with these positions, I did some private tutoring for some fellow students and a high school student in the area. Therefore, I am equipped to help with junior high through college mathematics because of the range of tutoring opportunities I have been privileged to hold.

A Little Bit About Me...

I consider myself a facilitator, not an authoritarian. I ascribe to the principles set forth by Malcolm Knowels and Benjamin Bloom. I rely on the strength and motivation of the student. I hesitate to call myself "teacher." I think I serve better as a guide which, hopefully, leads his client not just to a more enlightend place, but also to the place the client wants to be, or had in mind in the first place.
I started teaching Music in 1984. I taught part-time, temporary while pursuing education goals and working as a professional musician. I believe we all learn in different ways, and I am always open minded in finding the best way for that student I am working with at that time. I believe everyone can achieve the highest of goals if we all strive for that success and find out a way to get there. However, most of all I hope I can leave a feeling of respect for the studies and for the people around us.
I have earned a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Math. I am currently working as a chemist, so I have kept up with all the new studies that are taking place right now. I have tutored all through High School, College and thereafter. I have a real passion for learning math, all sciences, and history.
