My comments on tutoring Journalism : Published in university newspaper several times.

As a student, I earned a 3.87 in my major of English Arts, while both working as an employee for the school writing center and as a contributor for the school newspaper. I also did a lot of moonlighting outside of the writing center as a personal tutor for undergrads, high school, and elementary students, all with various experience in English as a language. I have produced over a thousand pages of academic writing during my time at school concerning a wide variety of subjects, which is a reflection of the broad English curriculum for the University at Albany and my minor of sociology. A Little Bit About Me...

I began tutoring people when I was in the eigth grade. I decided I wanted to help out at the school across the street from my middle school in Colorado. I enrolled in a class that allowed us to go and assist the teachers and help the students. I fell in love with kids then for sure. I already knew I liked them because I started babysitting when I was 11 and couldn't stop! Then in ninth grade, a neighbor failed kindergarten and asked if I would starting coming over several days a week to help him understand what was being taught. Needless to say, he made it to the first grade! I now have a 17 year old sister who is constantly asking for my assistance in her homework and it is with great pleasure that I assist her.

I am an English major from the University of Houston. I have taken many English and humanity courses in the past 7 years. I also tutor students on my own in college level courses currently, as well as substitute teach all grade levels in Katy ISD. I have worked with special ed students, resource students, and GT/AP students. I have a wide variety of experience with students of all age and learning ranges.
