I have more than 5 years experience as a substitute teacher at almost every level. I have had the opportunity to also serve as a long term substitute teacher. I also have 1 year of experience teaching at a pre-school level, 2.5 years teaching at a post-secondary level, and a semester of tutoring a middle school student. I have also taken course work in Differentiated Instruction. All of these experiences have given me the skills needed to be a successful teacher. Teaching at several levels allows me to adapt my teaching to the learning level of the student. I will work diligently to find the out the learning style of each student and try to adapt my teaching style to meet the student’s individual needs.

It is also necessary to determine the student's learning style so that teaching will be as efficient and successful as possible. I am able to put students at ease, providing as stress-free an environment as possible, and use humor and encouragement as a way of keeping the student interested and engaged.
While working toward my bachelor's and master's degrees, I was an honor student and a member of three honor societies. I attribute much of my success to superior writing skills, and have experience educating adults applying to an adult degree program, educating coworkers and others on a variety of subjects, and tutoring classmates in writing.
