A Little Bit About Me...

My passion for teaching is open forum. I meet the students where they are. some are visual, some hands on and some automated. I pace the student and test in areas of weakness. I provide computer advance learning as well as class and peer mentoring. I use all types of devices such as field trips, school resources, library and hands on life experences to get the students more involved. I like the student to process information by coming to the board and classroom prompts to get students involved in the daily lesson.
I have been teaching Adult Learners in the subject area GED Science, Language Arts,Fractions and Testing Subjects Writing for more than 4 years @ The Learning Bank of Coil-Under the Department of Educaiton. I have been a substitute teacher for the past two years covering all grade levels from pre-k three up to senior year in high school. I am a Master's Degree candidate in Elementary Education at Wilmington University. I enjoy students at every level and am amazed at what a difference a year makes in their development. Previously, I worked as a copywriter and I spent a lot of years writing and editing. I really enjoy the one-on-one or small group approach to teaching, which is why tutoring is so appealing to me.
I like to incorporate a sense of humor in my teaching - I believe when children can relax they are much more open to learning.
