A Little Bit About Me...

As a Purdue graduate and future Indiana University medical school student, I have always and will continue to be a motivated and high-achieving student. I recently earned a BS in Biology, with extensive knowledge in all basic sciences and math. I genuinely love learning and have taken a variety of courses beyond my required course load in such subjects as psychology, political science and social work. To give you some background, I graduated from Purdue University, Fort Wayne with a degree in biology and chemistry. I subsequently accepted a position with the Allen County Department of Health as an Environmental Health Specialist. In this position, I routinely inspect restaurants and markets in the Allen County Area. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my current position is the opportunity to utilize my science background and to educate the community on food-safety issues.
It has been a passion of mine to teach. I believe the biology and chemistry coursework necessary for my degree, would be of great benefit. Every child learns in different ways, I will assess what ability level each child learns at; and tutor to each child's needs.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have experience in every level of student. My first degree (A.S.) was in Engineering and I worked at higher level math, including a college Teacher's Assistant in Calculus. I went on to obtain a B.S. in Education. I took the coursework for Middle and High School endorsements in 4 other subject areas. I work in Remedial Education at a local university currently.

I enjoy tutoring those who are in Middle School or High school. I feel as though they tend to have a higher capacity for sustaining attention. Those are unique ages that can really build a foundation for later education. I believe that one-on-one time is essential in learning. Some people might learn well in a large group, but others learn much better when time is spent on explaing specific details. I find the most enjoyment when a tutee finally links the core concept and is able to solve more difficult problems on their own.
