I have been a teacher at Blue Mountain High School for three years. Prior to that I taught at Reading High School for two years. In addition, I was a mathematics aide for a year at Schuylkill Valley High School. In all my experience, I have taught everything from Algebra I to Calculus. Earning my Master's degree last year, gave some more strategies to use and develop both in and out of the classroom. However, as a student at Susquehanna University, I also volunteered at least 2 days a week at a local preschool where I helped teach the students. I am a visual learner and the best way to teach would be to give the learner something he can visually grasp. First if possible demonstrate visually then combine that with numbers and show the proper steps to solve the problem algebraically. Then offer different situations and examples for them to practice.
