Currently the lead math teacher at a local charter school in Garland, Texas. My current school's math curriculum is centered around my teaching style. Recent accomplishment:85% passing rate on recent STAAR exam. Accomplishment included two special education students.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style allows for the student to have a lot of self-revelation through answering leading questions, practicing hands on when applicable, and reviewing of mistakes—I find it is very helpful to not ‘erase’ a problem when a mistake has been made but to instead circle the mistake and begin again, the error is watching to ensure the error is not repeated. Math should be READ first, understanding that the last part of the challenge in the equation is usually the calculations. Words used in mathematics often have the same meaning as when used outside of a mathematical situation or scenario, and it is the definition that will aide in remembering the formula. Do your best to know the math rules (formulas), and try not to concern yourself with the why of that rule so much. Do you need an advanced tutor?

Experience tutoring MS, PhD, post-doctoral, or resident-interns in the medical field. I also have tutored established PE type engineers and MBAs for executive type presentations. Have tutored high school and undergrad as well. The teaching style is adaptable, but I prefer tutor either in a university library, coffee house, or classroom environment.
My teaching style depends on the student, it is adaptable. Some people are more visual, others are more lecture type, it all depends on the person.
