I have been teaching and tutoring people in computer usage for over 20 years now. I also used to teach computer programming in the mid 80's. I have a good understanding of mathematics and physics. This is important stuff to learn, so I like to give an overview with specific examples on how this will apply in their everyday life. Then we go over the basics. I enjoy giving the students individual attention. I noticed that often students are ashamed to ask for help or ask questions in front of the class. It is important to walk around the classroom and ask students how they are doing and if they understand the concepts. Many times it only then will a student accept help. Students have a wide range of learning styles. It is important to remember that when helping students. I like to break down a lesson into simpler ideas so it is easier to learn.
