A Little Bit About Me...

For the last two years I have enjoyed working at the Brigham Young University -Hawaii Reading Writing Center as a tutor and center manager. My passion has been to help others learn and gain a better understanding of the world around them. At BYUH, my area of expertise was in English reading and writing, techniques, style, improvement, grammar and overall understanding of the English language. I have had over ten years of Spanish education and six years of French language studies, which have given me maximum grammar understanding and language proficiency. A Little Bit About Me...

I have spent over 30 years working in various positions in the computer industry. I returned to school to gain a Mathematics/Teaching degree (without certification) from the University of Utah. I have taught for a single year at West Wendover HS in West Wendover, NV. During that year, I taught basic applied math classes as well as Algebra I, Algebra II and Pre-Calculus classes.
I like to get a student to the point where that student can apply basic skills to complete a problem. Once the student can apply those steps, I then like to move onward to get the student to be able to understand the reasoning behind the solution to the problem so that the student can use these steps to solve similar types of problems. I have spent a lot of time as a soccer referee and coach as well as a chess team coach working with youth.
