I believe a successful instructor is the most important part of teaching; one who is knowledgeable, wise, and be able to effectively communicate the knowledge to the students. I believe this can be achieved primarily by knowing the entirety of the subject taught and being able to connect with the students on an individual basis. The most effective instructors in my experience especially in higher education were effective at answering in dept questions on the spot and being able to connect with students with the course material rather than presenting facts or knowledge.

As a graduate assistant teaching a section of College Algebra at Minnesota State University, Mankato for past three years, I have gained a tremendous amount of experience and insights to become a successful educator and a leader. Now that I have completed my Masters degree in Mathematical Statistics, I want to continue to help students achieve their goal. I have spent over a year at Project for Pride for Learning in Minneapolis tutoring low income people on basic and moderate computer skills and job searching advice when I was an volunteer there from May 2008 to July 2009.

I like to make learning interesting and challenging. This is done to stimulate interest and involvement of the student. I always so practical applications for everything I teach. From Manners to Math there are ways to touch a mind in a meaningful way. This has its danger as the class observes more unique situations than I do and I get to make sense of the situation, for myself and the students, with only a sliver of information. But that is what makes life fun.
My experience’s range from venture capital proposals, running a factory, to volunteering at my son’s preschool.
