Upon leaving University I went into sales and marketing management for a couple of years. A career change occurred as I entered the realm of land surveying and mapping. I was an exemplary student athlete and attended university on multiple athletic and academic scholarships. I have been responsible for teaching over 80 employees either surveying, trigonometry, geometry or math and computation basics. I also headed up staffs of 10-70 employees while in my management role. The major benefit of a one-on-one tutoring environment is that a student can be taught in the manner which best suits their personal learning style. I believe it is imperative to identify a student's preferred learning style and to adapt my teaching accordingly. When working with a student, I prefer to allow the student to work through a problem and discover the answers themselves, while I guide and instruct them, instead of merely showing them. While grades and test scores are obviously important, it is my main goal to increase a student's confidence in a subject.
