One-on-one education is the best way I reach my students. I like diagnose them and take aptitude tests so I will know what type of learner as well as person I am working with. I take their weaknesses and I make them their strengths using such method as SQ3R, ANTICIPATORY SETS, FOUR-SQUARE-WRITING, CRITICAL THINKING,AND POSITIVE FEEDBACK. Since students learn differently at a variety of levels, I haqve several activities ande strqategies to use with all types of learners levels. As a vetern educator, I know that hard work, endurance, and determination are the keys to reaching any goal. The major benefit of a one-on-one tutoring environment is that a student can be taught in the manner which best suits their personal learning style. I believe it is imperative to identify a student's preferred learning style and to adapt my teaching accordingly. When working with a student, I prefer to allow the student to work through a problem and discover the answers themselves, while I guide and instruct them, instead of merely showing them. While grades and test scores are obviously important, it is my main goal to increase a student's confidence in a subject.
