PhD wants to tutor

Eclectic, clear and fun. I know grammar very well and I can explain it clearly.
I have a PhD in Spanish and Portuguese from a well-known university in the U.S. I have about 20 years of experience teaching Spanish and Portuguese on the college level. This includes elementary and intermediate levels, conversation, composition, literature, culture, film and medical Spanish. I also enjoy tutoring younger students. I lived in Brazil and have traveled extensively all over Latin America, Spain and Portugal. I am a native speaker of English and would enjoy tutoring ESL again. I have taught GED and tutored in Math, English and Social Studies. I got very high scores on my math ACT.

English is one of my top subjects!

I believe each student has an optimum learning style and I try to match my teaching strategies to that style. When working with adults, I try to establish motivations for learning first and then move on to the next step - how best to master the infomration or skill.
I have 25 plus years experience in teaching children and adults. I am currently working on my PhD in education with an emphasis on curriculum and instruction. I enjoy working one-on-one as well as in a classroom setting. Since I am completing my current studies online, I have a good understanding of online learning and studying style.
