I have always loved to write, and I've been writing since I was little. In high school, I was a writer and editor for the high school newspaper. I studied journalism at the University of Oregon for two years; and, I received a 3.5 GPA. Thereafter, I transferred to Portland State University, and I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (3.8 GPA). I believe psychology and communications are the perfect fit; in order to communicate to a wide range of individuals, you need to understand your audience. Graduate student looking to help students achieve their goals!

I have tutored children off and on since I was in high school. More recently, my time has been spent volunteering with The Giving Tree, where I tutored inner-city children after school and helped organize activities (museums, zoo, etc.) on the weekends. I am currently in the final stages of my dissertation for a doctorate in psychology, so I am always actively learning, too. My aspirations are to become a professor in higher education upon acquiring my Ph.D..
I think teaching styles should differ based on the preferred learning style of the student. The teaching style should play on the strengths and preferences of that particular student.
