Psychology is one of my top subjects! I hold a M.S. in social psychology and currently attaining a doctorate in general psychology.

I have tutored children off and on since I was in high school. More recently, my time has been spent volunteering with The Giving Tree, where I tutored inner-city children after school and helped organize activities (museums, zoo, etc.) on the weekends. I am currently in the final stages of my dissertation for a doctorate in psychology, so I am always actively learning, too. My aspirations are to become a professor in higher education upon acquiring my Ph.D..
I think teaching styles should differ based on the preferred learning style of the student. The teaching style should play on the strengths and preferences of that particular student. I believe that each person has a different style of learning. Therefore, I try to adjust my teaching style based on the individual. While this is not possible in a classroom setting it is possible in a tutoring situation. Furthermore, I am a big proponent of making the subject personally relevant.
