My teaching philosophy is somewhat similar to every teacher and parent. I believe that teachers are the backbone of society. Whether teaching take place in the home, school, or at the work place. We, as human beings, all have to be taught something at one point in our lives. I believe that in order to succeed in life, you must be taught the points of survival throughout life. I believe that teachers hold a key that guides our students to having better lives for themselves. If we as educators don’t utilize that motive, then we are in the wrong profession.

I have taught friends and family math since I was in middle school. I help friends strengthen their algebra and trigonometry foundation during their high school years. During college, while I was taking Calculus classes, I help one friend of mine who was pursuing a degree in Computer Science with Calculus problems. I have a degree in Computer Programming but I actually love math more than my major. I have full confidence and passion for tutoring any college student who are taking their first Calculus classes.
i like to let the students think first. That is because I believe a problem is half way solved if you understand it. When I help solving the problem, I always want to make sure he/she understand it. I like understanding the fundamentals than knowing short cuts and remembering rules.

When in school I did not like that my major was Accounting. I did not enjoy my classes or teachers, now out of school I enjoy my job and accounting more than I ever thought I would. I like to teach and show students how accounting effects their everyday life. Accounting has so many real life applications that the book can not show you, and I enjoy having students enjoy accounting as much as I do.
When I graduated from Bradley University I was looking for ways to keep up with the accounting functions. One way that really helped me was tutoring. When I first graduated, I tutored for Bradley's Freshman students taking Financial Accounting. Currently I do training in auditing and financial procedures at my work. I work for a hotel management company and work with GM's that have no prior accounting experience.
