As a current student at Central Michigan, I continue to strive for the best education I can possibly achieve. I have clepped out or aced all english classes at the college level and have found a great interest in writing and reading papers and essays. I am extremely familiar with both APA and MLA writing styles and have had numerous hours and years of practice writing papers and essays for my college level courses. I received a 1 on my MEAP writing and a 30 on my ACT writing/English section. Al though I have never technically tutored or taught a child writing, I am interested in helping aid a child's learning experience. I am extremely personable and social, and would get along great with any child. I am patient, understanding and eager to provide my extensive knowledge of writing to those that need help.

As a substitute teacher for the past three years, I have experiencing teaching nearly every academic subject. I am a published playwright and have sold over fifteen short scripts for religious one-acts to the Nashville-based Belden Street Music Company. My writing and composition skills are particularly strong, my understanding of grammar is excellent and I have worked extensively in high school English/writing classes. I also held a long term substitute assignment in an Air Force Junior ROTC program in which I taught leadership skills and character building. Every student is different; some require more help than others. As a teacher I have to find the best way for the child to learn. I want learning to be constructive, but also fun. I have discovered through years of education, that the amount of enthusiasm from an educator can make a huge difference. Therefore as an educator, I need to be patient and always encouraging. Adding details, examples, and stories to a study subject can help many students mentally see what I’m trying to teach. In addition, I was responsible for coordinating training programs for in plant positions like hi-lo driving and safety as well as Adult Education (Speed Reading, English as a Second Language, etc.). I held a sales position for 25 years and possess strong people skills and problem solving and conflict resolution abilities. I am happily retired at a relatively young age and am seeking an outlet for my skills and abilities that can benefit others.
