A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored students of all ages, from elementary school to adults. I have taught at the elementary level, and substitute taught kindergarten through high school, but I most enjoy tutoring one-on-one. For the last two years, I have tutored adults studying to earn their GED, primarily in math, and over the past six years, I have taught the Microsoft Office Suite of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. I have tutored general math, algebra I, geometry, and I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in biology.
When I teach, I am patient, positive, and encouraging. I worked as a synthetic organic chemist at Eli Lilly pharmaceutical company for five years. I spent the next 20+ years as a stay-at-home mom and homeschooler, teaching my three children from kindergarten until they graduated from high school.(My two oldest are now college graduates and the third is presently in college.) During my years of homeschooling, I taught both chemistry and biology to high school students in our homeschool group. I have also tutored friends who were in nursing programs and struggling with chemistry. I enjoy algebra and geometry and have done some tutoring in each subject.
