As an mathematics tutor I have had the pleasure of tutoring my college peers. I have worked with Hawks Learning System Program, which is an College Algebra Software thats is used by the mathematics professors at Alcorn State University. Within completing my degree I have taken higher level mathematics courses such as Calculus I, II, and III, as well as Abstract Algebra, Foundations of Mathematics, History of Mathematics, Discrete Mathematics, Mathematical Probability, Teaching Secondary Mathematics, Number Theory, Linear Algebra, and Statistics I just to name a few. After I graduated high school I went to a community college just to get the feel of college. I decided to major in speech because I was interested in correct speech. Not only how words were pronounced but also what mechanisms that are used to produce correct speech. I went on to Delta State University to pursue my Bachelor's in Speech and Hearing, and might I add they had a spectacular program. I learned a lot more than what makes a person have a speech disorder. I tutored at the local elementary school for two summers straigth and absolutely loved it. Children are a joy to work with becuase they are eager to learn. I feel that if you make it interesting for a child then their learning experience becomes something that they won't forget.

I'm an assertive motivator. Learning should not be repulsive, children love to learn by examples that they can relate to. I find the opportunity to combine the likes and dislikes of the student and mold them into a constructive solution. Using metaphors and similes are more of my specialties. The style is strict, but the concepts are easier. When the task is completed, the student will say I was tough but with a caring aftereffect. I'm a recent graduate of Rust College. During my years at college I tutored in subjects as biology, basic math, college algebra,English literature, and also was a co-judge for a local junior high science fair. During the summer of 2009, I did my internship with the Ronald E. McNair program at the University of Mississippi. This program focused mainly on research based studies with a chosen graduate professor.

I love to work with children who are eager to learn. I know that for most children having to study is not their top priority, so I try to make it fun.
