As a graduate of Arkansas State University with a degree in history, I achieved an excellent rapport with the faculty and the administration in the pursuit of my degree. I worked as a tutor coordinator for the YMCA tutoring children from the ages of 12-16. I helped them in basic studies to ensure that they had a grade of a C or better. As language is universal and so critial in conveying ideas, I truly enjoy teaching others to express themselves verbally and in writing. I believe it is important to explain the value of a particular subject matter and give a detailed summary of what should be accomplished in the lesson. I utilize a rather formal teaching style, because language has specific "rules" as far as what is correct or incorrect and what is acceptable speech, as opposed to unacceptable slang terminology.
