I am a true believer that learning is one the most rewarding and exciting aspects of an education. Being a peer tutor and having other leadership positions, I am aware that people are individuals and therefore will have diverse learning styles. Through my rigorous studying for enterance into medical school, I realize that the most effective way to determine if a student is truly comprehending a concept is to get them to "teach" or explain the concept back to the instructor. I enjoy teaching one-on-one and have found this to be the most effective in regards to my students success. I believe that every student can do well in math but every student has a different pace. I try to adapt to each student's pace/learning style as I explain a new concept.
After completing my MS in Mathematics from CSU East Bay, I began tutoring high school students privately. Then, I taught Finite Math, Elementary Algebra, and Intermediate Algebra courses at Faulkner University and at Auburn University Montgomery as an adjunct instructor.
