The Friendly Math Guy Next Door

Although I can and have made lesson plans as a tutor, I prefer just explaining and working similar examples to whatever specific questions students bring to me in an effort to have them work through their own specific problems themselves with me there to assist.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in being hands on and visual, many students have problems in math and science because they are unable to visualize the words written in their books. I am extremly organized so that my time is best spent on the most difficult areas for each individual student.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. I have very strong math skills, especially in Algebra, which is what my daughter is learning now. I excelled in grammar, art, health, and science as well. I was a teacher at a private school for a year after college before I started a family and began home schooling. My daughter is now in the 8th grade and tests at the college level in reading and high school levels at most other subjects.

Some students have a learning barrier due to their lack of confidence in a given subject, so I believe a part of a tutors job is to build the confidence of a student, allowing them to believe they are able to do whatever they put their mind to. My highest math course was in differential equations, also I completed physics, chemistry, and electrical course material. I have had 9 years experience as either field engineer or construction superintnedent.
