My tutoring style is somewhat laid-back with serious undertones. I feel the best way to learn is to not have information force fed, but to allow the individual to glean knowledge and come to an understanding of the subject gradually. My comments on tutoring Algebra I : Most students find this subject easy once it is properly taught for understanding. Math facts must be mastered first, and We can do that quickly and easily with my programs.

Love children and think that all are capable of learning!

I prefer to meet with students who have already looked at the material and are prepared with questions. We can then approach these problems together and solve anything the student was unable to do themselves. If I notice a gap in the theory behind something. I will then fill it in adding a physical example when I am capable of doing so. I have also had to teach a few topics to a student who could not grasp the concept from the professor, so I am not against approaching the sessions like that, but I believe it is better for the student to come prepared with questions and problems that I can then help them with.

I tutored a fourth grader for one school year. I have also tutored at a tutoring center and worked with kindergarten children. Unfortunately I was only there for one month due to scheduling issues with my college classes. I do volunteer with the nursery and young children at my church from time to time and I have experience teaching kids from preschool all the way up to sixth grade (due to volunteering at church).

Is your child ready for Common Core GPS Math????

I have been teaching middle school math for twenty seven years. I have been tutoring for 22 years. I myself had trouble with math when I was growing up and that helps me to break the standard down in smaller steps to help the student to understand.
