In the summer time during my undergraduate career I worked as a camp counselor and coach in Colorado for children from the ages of 6-18. After completion of my BA I coached at my alma-mater. From there I decided to pursue my graduate education and took a scholarship in the althetic department at the University of Arkansas where I became an academic advisor for the football team for 4 years. In the summers during my graduate career I worked for Sylvan Learning centers. I began as an English teacher and filled in on Math when they were short handed. My teaching style is the same as my parenting style. Establishing high expectations and an environment where students are provided the academic tools they need, as well as care and concern, have been the keys to my success. I have learned that all children strive to please their parents, and their teachers when they know that the teacher is invested in their success.
