My MAT is almost complete, and focuses on Secondary English Education. During the past two years, I have been working as an intern and teacher on both the middle and high school levels. Before teaching, I completed by BA in Political Science and English and continued on to work for a large political consulting firm in Washington D.C. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a retired Connecticut public school educator with over 30 years of experience. I taught both English and mathematics, grades 7 through 12, for the first fourteen years of my career. I was an administrator for the remainder of my career, serving at the high school level, middle schoollevel, elementary level, and central office level. My last four years were as a system-wide language arts and reading curriculum supervisor in which I worked with students, parents, teachers and other administrators.
The key to good teaching is determining the skills of each student, individualizing an instructional program to improve on those skills, and monitoring progress to improve the student's knowledge base.
