Collaborative & Fun Teacher

I worked in the financial sector for 10 years and have a Master's Degree in Economics and Finance. I use 'play therapy' most often to teach skills and strategies. Multiple studies have demonstrated that children learn best through play.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been caring for children of all ages for the last 9 years, which includes tutoring and metoring. I am also in my second year as a substitute teacher, in which I teach grades pre-k through 12th grade.
I believe that all children want and try to do their best, but sometimes need an extra push. I think it is necessary to use the appropriate curriculum, but to find out what teaching method works best for each student as we all learn differently. It is also important for each child/student to have some flexibility in what they learn in order to express their individuality and own creativity.

Since a student is a human being before he or she assumes the role of the learner, it is incumbent upon the teacher to respect the individual, and likewise earn his or her respect, first, well before considering the more technical pedagogical aspects.
