I have over 25 years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) industry as an instructional developer, technical writer, help developer, business process analyst, and trainer. I have earned a BA in Spanish and an MEd in Instructional Technology. I am pursuing a PhD in Education in Instructional Design for Online Learning (IDOL). I have excelled in mathematics since early childhood. As such, I pursued a career in engineering and technology. I acquired a Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering, and did so in 3 years. I have spent a great deal of time over the past 15 years instructing others in mathematics,physics, and the sciences ranging from grade school to college level to fellow colleagues within my various careers. I believe that when the basic concepts of math and science are mastered, the complex concepts become simple. These subjects also need to be taught using real life examples so that students can see the importance of learning them. Finally, I believe the worst thing that an instructor can do is to ask student to use and memorize equation that they don't understand. I will always insure that a student will understand the why and not just the how. Anyone can become a master of math and science if they have the desire and are taught effectively. Teaching is in my blood. Both my parents were teachers. My father was a college professor and my mother was an elementary school teacher. As a PSR working in the school setting I students that were considered by some as untrainable. Often the students believed they were unable to learn or were dumb since they had always been told they were. I was able to work with some of the most difficult. I would make up games and contests to get them to try something. I believe in lots of encouragement and was recently told by one of my former clients, who couldn't read or write in the 7th grade, "I am really going to graduate this year. I have a bachelors degree in business administration and an associates degree in health administration. I have had experience teaching preschoolers and help my own children at home. They are currently in 2nd, 4th, and 6th grades. I enjoy learning and had a 3.6 GPA when I finished my bachelors degree. I do very well in writing research papers. My schooling was online so I have a great deal of experience writing papers.
