My style is laid-back in a sense that every student needs to build their confidence in math. I will go over a problem several ways, and give different examples, until the student understands the concepts. Once the concept is learned, a student will be able to do any problem. Just giving answers or learning by rote, doesn't help a student learn a concept.
As a High School Math Teacher for 33 years, I have taught every course from Algebra to AP Calculus. Having retired from teaching High School in 2008, I am now teaching at several colleges in the area. I specialize in decoding the reading passages so that the student only has to choose between two multiple choice questions rather than among five, which can take up a lot of time and panicking the student.
