EXCELLENT EDUCATOR!!!

My teaching and classroom management style is very authoritative. I like to set clear and concise classroom rules and expectations. Teachers should take time to set rules in a visible place for students, review them daily, and have consequences when the rules are not followed. However, students will be acknowledged for doing the right thing through classroom recognition or a prize. Students should have a set routine each day. This will allow them to know and understand what to expect with the classroom. If the routine has to be changed, this is explained ahead of time and students are guided into the transition. This will alleviate discipline problems.
I am recent graduate of Grand Canyon University and I completed my student teaching with Atlanta Public Schools while working in a Special Needs Kindergarten and First grade class. I worked with the lead teacher to prepared modified ... read more

An Exceptional Teacher for Exceptional Students!

I am a former Special Education teacher from Bibb County. I taught in a interrelated classroom in both the elementary school level, and the middle school level. I taught reading, math, science, and social studies. I was a cooperative teacher, in which I worked with the general education teacher to assist her in helping our students with special needs. In the interrelated classroom, I worked with students who were not able to be mainstreamed in the general education classroom all day. In the interrelated classroom, not only did the students learn the academic standards on their level, but they were also taught social skills, and life skills.
My teaching style is one of engaging, fun style. I believe that students should love to learn. Students should be allowed to academically express themselves to the teacher. This helps to facilitate learning. Appropriate questioning of the ... read more

I enjoy working with all children. I believe that my teaching should be differientiated to fit the learning style of each student I work with. This is because all children learn differently and i have to use which strategy that works best with each particular student. All children can learn and succeed if they were given the opportunity.
As a special education major and history minor, I have learned so much about helping children succeed. I am currently working toward my bachelors degree at Brenau University. This has enabled me to do various field experiences and an internship that deals with children of various ages. I have worked with all subjects from grades K-12. I have a social studies concentration with my major.

What I have learned working with students is that many do not learn in the same manner. I beleive in what is called top process learning. Given the student a concept and allowing them to explore the possibilities of how one arrives at such a concept has allowed deeper critical thinking and strategic planning. However, this method is not predominately taught in Georgia education system. I have found this method to be very effective. The other method is patience. Students who strugge with their academic learning usually are having other areas of difficulty which may be social learning. Having clinical training allows me to make a more accurate assessment.
During the last 10 years I have worked with all levels of students, preschool through college levels. These areas include reading, math, english, psychology, science and social studies. I am a self starter and have worked wi ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is to be very patient with the students. They are in a learning process for a difficult subject that the student is trying to master. Making the environment a comfortable environment so the student can move forward with their progressing in the subject is vital. For example, for my elementary students, I created games to keep their interest. The attention span of children can become really short when it comes to subjects they do not understand. All in all, ensuring that the student is comfortable in the learning environment is the best environment for one to endure.

I believe that all children can be inspired to be life-long learners. The responsibility of the teacher in this process is to identify the learning style of each child and construct learning experiences that allow for the maximum benefit. The teacher’s roles in these experiences are facilitator, guide, monitor and mentor. When these roles are carried out with enthusiasm, the opportunities for positive learning experiences are abundant. I have found that most children learn best from playing the role of explorer, detective, and experimenter. By properly engaging students in the learning process a value of learning is instilled that can last a life time.
