I have a year of experience working as a Peer Facilitator at New Mexico State University where I was responsible for grading papers, tutoring, facilitating biology workshops, and hosting exam review sessions for lower level undergraduate biology courses. I have earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education, which has enabled me to teach kindergarten through 12th grade. I also obtained my master's degree in Literacy at UNM. Daily observance of grammatical errors, such as on restaurant menus, on printed literature, and on school assignments made my decision to major in English much easier. My English degree necessitated that I write multiple essays that focused on grammar, coherence, elimination of wordiness, and other aspects of proper English writing. The editing and medical writing courses approached writing from a slightly different angle, while the traditional grammar course further revealed the connection of all words to each other in a sentence; nevertheless, it was another opportunity to better my writing ability.
