My comments on tutoring Science : Through Middle School level

I love to incorporate art and sensory experiences into everything I do to really activate the brain. The "Drill and Kill" is very rarely appropriate, so I tailor every approach individually. What works for one student may not work with another. My formal training includes many intervention types and experience with multiple programs and curricula, so I have a large pool from which to draw...then we get creative! My style REALLY aims for those over-arching foundational skills like critical thinking, thought organization, and problem solving. I make sure that every topic that i go over is clearly understood. A clear sense of understanding can make any "boring" subject more interesting and fun to learn. I like to start with the basics of a subject and move into detail as required. If more time is needed on any one topic I am willing to go over it as many times as the student wants.
