Live, Love, and Beautify

Learning is the basis of what we know. What we know is the basis of who we are. Who we are is the basis of the impact we will have on the world. I love helping others to understand the unknown, and to overcome what may seem to be a hinderance. I have tutored children for six years, and look forward to another six years of helping them to open their level of thinking. I have worked with special tutorial programs through the state, I have worked with daycares that provide extra assistance to children with special educational needs, and I am always available to children in the neighborhood who need a little extra guidance with their school work.
I like to teach hands on and allow the students to experience the lessons like real life, this makes the learning process more memorable.

One-on-one education is the best way I reach my students. I like diagnose them and take aptitude tests so I will know what type of learner as well as person I am working with. I take their weaknesses and I make them their strengths using such method as SQ3R, ANTICIPATORY SETS, FOUR-SQUARE-WRITING, CRITICAL THINKING,AND POSITIVE FEEDBACK. Since students learn differently at a variety of levels, I haqve several activities ande strqategies to use with all types of learners levels. As a vetern educator, I know that hard work, endurance, and determination are the keys to reaching any goal. A Little Bit About Me...

The major benefit of a one-on-one tutoring environment is that a student can be taught in the manner which best suits their personal learning style. I believe it is imperative to identify a student's preferred learning style and to adapt my teaching accordingly. When working with a student, I prefer to allow the student to work through a problem and discover the answers themselves, while I guide and instruct them, instead of merely showing them. While grades and test scores are obviously important, it is my main goal to increase a student's confidence in a subject. With confidence comes ease and familiarity, and an ability to apply knowledge critically. I hope that the skills I teach my students will aid them in all their endeavors.
