As a college senior, I've come to value greatly my education. Prior to enrolling at the University of Georgia, I made a perfect 800 on the math section of my SATs. Even though I am a science major, I have a great understanding of math. Currently, I tutor middle schoolers in basic algebra, most of whom are struggling and need a lot of help. I have also recently finished an entire college online algebra course online for someone with a 96 average.
My strongest suit in my teaching style is probably the many ways that I would approach teaching a certain principle. If the student does not understand one way to approach a problem, I try to best to help them understand and learn another way. My tutoring style is the same as my teaching style which I learned from teaching the eighth graders at Friends School of Atlanta. The young students were very honest about what they wanted. I learned to be very honest with them. These kids were very bright. I gave them a lot of homework and pushed them to learn as much as I knew they were capable of learning. They always grumbled whenever I upped the standards for the class, but they knew that they could count on me to help them.
