My teaching/coaching style is structured, organized, yet relaxed. I believe it's important to get to know the individual and his/her learning style before creating a personalized education plan for him/her. After discerning how a person best learns, I would tailor a program based on areas that most need improvement. Then we would design "classes" or units that are interesting and meaningful to the student. While I was attending college I worked in child care with a variety of ages preparing lessons for enrichment. I also taught as an adjunct professor for adult ESL at Aims Community College. After finishing my degree, I taught for five years at Wiggins Elementary in 2nd and 6th grade. I was trained in FAST reading program as well as many others for teaching reading and math. For the past two years, I have been living in the country of Macedonia as a US Peace Corps volunteer. My job there entailed working with primary school teachers to develop student centered teaching techniques and resources.
