My undergraduate degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan was a major in Home Economics Education and a minor in Spanish. Ten years later I completed my Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education at the same University. I have a total of ten years experience on the elementary, junior high and high school levels. My teaching philosophy involves connecting with individual students. One of my strengths is identifying strong points in a student’s performance and teaching him to tap into successful facets of his/her performance. In English, I was trained in (and advocate) “Faulkner English” as developed by Claude Faulkner and taught at the University of Arkansas.
