Tutoring a child who is a book learner is different than a child who needs visuals or manipulatives. Some children need academics tied into real life experiences. I feel it is important to understand what is different and unique about every student. Not all students will learn in the same way, nor will they find their desire to learn in the same way. I feel it is my duty as a teacher to find what these ways are for every student. Differentiation is vital to the learning process and can only be executed effectively if you know your students.
