I am a graduate from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and about to graduate in May 2011 with another Bachelor degree in Recreational Therapy. I was valedictorian in my high school and graduated in the top 10% of my class in college. In addition to that I have 5 years of Spanish I have taken in high school and college and recently went to Oaxaca, Mexico on a study abroad trip for 3 weeks. I have three years of experience working with children and teaching them social skills, daily living skills, helping them with their homework whenever they need it, and I love to learn. I love working with children and feel that is my God given talent. I believe that all children can and will learn with the proper time given to them. All children learn differently. As a teacher you have to work on the best way to teach that child. I feel that tutoring you have the full attention of the child. By working one on one the child will benefit greatly. I have been working with elementary children for 19 years. I have expericence as a Title 1 Teacher Assistant, Special Education aide, Substitute teacher and Sunday school teacher. I have tutored in reading and math. I am currently attending Ashford University to complete my Early Childhood degree in 2012. I will then continue to get my degree in Special Education.

I am a Special Education teacher by education and by choice. My teaching style is one that can be changed at any time to answer the learning style of a student. I am a hands-on, multiple teaching style person because I know that students do not learn by using just one learning style. If I said that I just had one teaching style, then I would only be teaching to one type of student and that is detrimental to all students. I love teaching and working with all ages of students and I communicate with parents and other teachers directly and collaboratively.
