A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy helping others and thereby learning about myself in the process. I believe my teaching style revolves around communication, compassion, and finding the best way for the student to grasp the lesson or idea presented. I feel that everyone has their own way of comprehension and the challenge is for me to discover it. I have taught primarily college and university level students ages 18+. I have tutored Math, English, Wildlife Biology, and Cell Biology. I never claim to have all the answers, only many ways of finding them.
My professional background is primarily in marine mammal behavioral biology. I believe each child has his or her own style of learning, and part of the joy of teaching is discovering a child's unique way of achieving academic success. I believe a hands-on approach is crucial in mastering and applying new information. I believe all children have the ability to learn when they are given the keys to unlock their learning style.
