I think that everyone has a propensity to learn a language and each student needs someone very patient to go down the path of language learning with them. A student learning a foreign language must speak the language a lot, so I will place an important emphasis on conversational skills. I understand that all children can learn, but they also learn at different paces, in different ways, and at different times of the day.
