I have been a contracted translator for GE during outages for the last 4 years. Major work for outage is simultaneous translation for GE nuclear technicians to Taiwan Power Plant (English-Chinese). My major back in University is English so I also had four year experience teaching English as second language. With education in English, I know what mistakes Chinese are likely to make translating Chinese to English. My experience tutoring began during my high school years, where I would tutor Spanish and English to my peers, especially focusing on written and oral language skills as well as literary analysis. My favorite part about teaching is the moment that something "clicks" within a child's mind. I am a problem solver naturally so I try to lead children down a path of discovery instead of just teaching the answer. I believe this helps children gain an understanding of how things work or why they are a certain way so that they are able to apply these same processes to other problems.
I have earned two bachelor degrees, BS in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business and BA in Spanish. I have 10 years of professional experience involving customer service, Spanish translation, tutoring, and training. As an ex-patriate, I was afforded the opportunity to learn Spanish fluently and have witnessed first hand its importance in business and life today.
