Whenever I can, I like to be very hands-on in my teaching my students. For example, once I was teaching my class about trees. I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.
I have been a self-employed Tutor since April, 2006. Special needs and home schooled students are welcomed. Nothing makes me happier than when I see the smiles on the faces of my students when they succeed rather than fail. I assist all students in skill building and creating a life-long love of learning. I provide on-going feedback to parents and am happy to work with the teachers of my students.

As a graduate of East Carolina University, I have continued to be persistent in every aspect of my teaching career. I have earned only a bachelor degree in Elementary Education with a minor in child studies, which have helped me to develop and become the teacher that I am now. Prior to my relocation to the Jacksonville, Florida area I had completed my undergraduate degree and was working toward my Masters in Education for Middle School. During this period, I interned at a middle school and had worked as a substitute teacher. I have also worked in management and training.
