Many children struggle with classroom learning because they require a different learning method than the one being offered or more direct attention than a teacher of 20+ students can offer. As a dyslexia therapist I was instructed in a number of different approaches to teaching and how to match each one to an individual student's needs. I received a bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State University in Elementary Education. I graduated in May of 2006. That August I began a leave in fourth grade at Douglas Elementary School. I taught first grade last school season at Grassy Elementary school. The two years prior to teaching at Grassy I taught at Sloman Primary School, also in first Grade.
