I have a BA in History/English from the University of Mississippi. I have been a teacher for the past year in Tate County Mississippi. This experience has allowed me to develop a teaching style to reach all types of learners. I have also been a tutor in English on a senior level. I have training with children of all learning styles. I have a BS in biology, however I have a passion for teaching. In 2006, I was a Teach Tennessee fellow. This program's intent is to fast track degreed professionals into an education career. I spent some time teaching in the public school system. I had to resign my postion, due to family a family situation. I continued my work as a substitute teacher. I love working with students and appreciate the moment when they finally understand a concept with which they have struggled. I am able to devise a teaching strategy based on the individual's needs. I am adept at taking abstract ideas and placing them into a real world setting. I am patient and understanding. I will cater my teaching to meet a child's needs. I do the notecard stlye of tutoring and I do the repetition type of studying. I love teaching our youth. I am a firm believer in teaching through discovery and in providing a constructivist approach to learning.
